Mangaliso Ngema – the soapie actor who has been arrested over the alleged rape of his biological sister – has denied her claims in an Instagram post.

The former Generations star took to social media to dispute the claims after his arrest last week. In the statement, he accuses his sister of “psychotic behaviour”.

According to Sunday World, Mangaliso Ngema was released on R5 000 bail after appearing at the Randburg Magistrate’s Court last Thursday.

MANGALISO NGEMA SLAMS SISTER’S RAPE CLAIMS

According to Sunday World, Mangaliso Ngema was arrested after his sister alleged that he had raped her continuously at his Johannesburg home for two years.

The woman alleges that her actor sibling sexually assaulted her after a miscarriage and whilst his own wife was out of the country. But Mangaliso Ngema has rubbished his sister

Despite Sunday World not naming his sister due to legal reasons, Mangaliso shared a picture of her on his Instagram page.

Sharing his version of events, he posted: “Friends and family, it is with deep sadness that I share this post. I’m sure many of you have seen the disturbing news about my sister and her allegations. Please be aware that it is not true”

Mangaliso then claimed that his sister was “not well” and insinuated that she had fabricated her allegations. He continued: “My sister has not been well since the end of April this year. She was admitted to the hospital for psychotic behavior but she refused psychiatric treatment and absconded from the facility. She has been on a rampage since then, accusing everyone, her family and friends, of various shocking things. It seems like she has been taken over by bad spirits. We are all dumbfounded by this”.

Mangaliso Ngema suggested that his sister “needs help”

He continued: “We are deeply concerned as her family and friends. She seriously needs help and we continue to pray for her well-being. She is a good person who loves her family. [She] would never put people she loves through what we are currently going through”.

OUTRAGE OVER IG STATEMENT

Despite his intentions to express his innocence, Mangaliso Ngema was accused of “victim-blaming” his sister by his followers.

Many social media users also reminded him that this was not the first time he has been accused of rape.

Sthandiwe_msimang: “YOU’VE BEEN ACCUSED OF SEXUAL ABUSE AND HARASSMENT BEFORE! WE BELIEVE HER! YOU’RE THE PROBLEM!!!

Freeverse13: “Stop victim-blaming. Lorraine Moropa, Altovise Lawrence.. your sister? SIES! What I know about doing things in the dark is they always come to the light. Your sister was desperate and thought she could trust her and you too advantage”

Lungelo_s_: “Where there’s smoke, there’s fire. You can’t be always accused of the same thing. But he has daughters one day it will hit home”

Tsepi_g_: “This is not the first time you have been accused of rape. So we’re the others victims ‘unwell’ also and ‘exhibiting psychotic behaviour’?. You are something else!”

Authenticlee_me: “As for being taken over by bad spirits. A few months ago you tried to sue a victim and then later you confessed. Could it be that you’re the one been taken over by bad spirits? Incest is a generational curse”

Instagram comments

GBV organisation Women For Change also slammed the Mangaliso Ngema’s accusations about his sister, stating: “We believe her”.

They added in a post: “The justice system keeps failing us – again, again, again!”

Mangaliso Ngema will appear in court again on 4 August 2022. He is expected to enter a plea
