Sorry Mr Smeg, Babes Wodumo prefers a quiet white man in future

Babes Wodumo says that she would prefer a quiet man who ‘doesn’t like to talk to much’ should she ever decide to date again.

South African musician Babes Wodumo recently opened up about the return of her reality TV show Thando Lodumo, dealing with the death of her husband Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo and also the prospects of dating in the future.

In a touching Facebook Live video, the gqom singer shared how her white wedding was meant to be shown on season three of her show but will rather show her late husband’s funeral.

Babes Wodumo opens up after losing Mampintsha

In December last year, South Africans were left reeling after Durban musician and Big Nuz group member Mampintsha suffered a stroke and died shortly afterwards.

Many wondered how his young wife and mother of his child Babes Wodumo would handle his sudden passing.

Taking to Facebook Live recently, Babes shared how heartbreaking it is that his funeral — and not their white wedding — will feature on season three of their reality show.

“We were separated by death,” she said. “God took away what I loved the most.”

The musician also opened up about not seeing any of her husband’s friends since his funeral last year.

Finding her feet

The Wololo hitmaker then joked around about the kind of guy she would choose once she is ready to move on.

According to her, she would prefer a white man who is quiet and doesn’t have much to say.

“Should I ever decide to date again, I think I prefer to be with a white man, somebody who does not like to talk too much,” she said according to a TshisaLive article.

She then went on top urge for fans to vote for her late husband’s hit song Ngeke which has managed to bag several Metro FM Awards nominations.
