Limpopo-born DJ turned Producer Rabelani ‘Rabbs Vhafuwi” Madula demands his money back from musician Makhadzi. The Murahu hitmaker was reportedly booked for a gig last August and charged R20 000 but never showed up.

RABBS VHAFULWI DETAILS HIS FINACIAL FRUSTRATION WITH MAKHADZI

This would not be the first time Makhadzi was booked and never appeared. In a previous story by The South African, a Limpopo-based businessman reported that he had booked the Ghanaian musician who was a no-show to his event. Seth Malapo demanded Makhadzi and the Open Mic Productions team return his money which was estimated to be around R95 000.

Speaking to Daily Sun on 25 January, another event promoter, Rabbs Vhafuwi, detailed his problem with the musician and was quoted saying,

“I run my own gigs on Sundays, called the Sunday Service. Between May and September, I was doing these gigs and Cohibar in Melrose Arch. On Sunday, 21 August, Makhadzi and she charged me R20 000…

“She was supposed to perform at 23:00 because we used to close at 00:00, but she arrived at 00:15. She didn’t perform, we agreed that she’d perform the following Sunday, 4 September,” Rabbs Vhafulwi added.

The following Sunday, Rabbs Vhafulwi said Makhadzi was nowhere to be found. When she was eventually reached, she told him that she was in Botswana and would not be available to come back and do the gig. Instead, she promised to refund the him on 1 October, but she never did.

RABBS VHAFULWI’S DESPERATE ATTEMPTS TO GET HIS MONEY BACK

Rabbs Vhafulwi said that he gave up on Makhadzi refunding his money as she began ignoring his calls. But one day, he bumped into her at a Makhadzi Family Day event at Giyani Stadium on 26 December and confronted her about her debt.

She promised she would pay him back at the end of that event but she could not be found.

Rabbs Vhafulwi then decided to organise Makhadzi a gig where she would be paid R100 000 and hoped that she would thank him by refunding him back what she owed.

But again, Makhadzi went back to ignoring his calls.

In his frustration, Rabbs Vhafulwi exposed Makhadzi on social media. He eventually got a call from her with their mutual friend where Makhadzi pleaded with the him during a conference call to give her another chance and give her a gig so she could settle him.

Rabbs Vhafulwi agreed to the new terms and set her up with a gig which was supposed to be on 29 January. But again, Makhadzi has reportedly gone missing in action.

In a message seen by Daily Sun, Makhadzi wrote,

“Are you on a mission to destroy me? I will pay your money from today. I will send you eWallet of R2000 until I finish paying it. Send the number that I must use. I will finish paying it end of March. That’s what I can afford. I don’t have your money in cash.”
