The Springboks are seemingly soft-launching fresh new faces into their squad…and fans are loving it!

The second alignment camp of the year – facilitated by coach Rassie Erasmus – took place in Cape Town this week.

In a clip posted on their social media account, rugby fans were given a glimpse of the “next generation” of national team players.

According to SA Rugby, the second Springbok alignment camp took place this week in Cape Town from 22 to 23 May.

Thirty-eight players were invited to attend, many of them new faces to the national team.

According to coach Rassie Erasmus, the camp’s purpose is to introduce players to the coaching staff and structures within the team and help them implement action ideas.

He said: “This camp was extremely valuable in exposing the players to detailed aspects of the game, which we would like to implement this season.

“With our first Test less than a month away, it was vital that we started introducing the players to our new systems so that they have sufficient time to familiarise themselves with these structures as we plan to select the group of players for the Wales Test and Castle Lager Incoming Series.”

On the official Springbok Instagram account, followers were given a glimpse of some old faces and prospective new members who attended the camp.

The account posted a video of some of the action with the caption: “ A sneak peek behind the scenes at the #Springboks alignment camp in Cape Town this week.”
