MISS SUPRANATIONAL SA LEAVES FOR POLAND

Bryoni Govender will be representing South Africa at the Miss Supranational pageant which takes place in Nowy Sącz in Poland on 6 July. The beauty queen is no stranger to international pageants, as she represented South Africa at the Miss Universe pageant in 2023. Bryoni holds a Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree from the University of Johannesburg (UJ).

So, the time has come for the beauty queen, who was the Miss SA runner-up in 2023, to leave to Poland. Bryoni will be starting her preparations for the pageant.

Reigning Miss Supranational, Andrea Aguilera of Ecuador will crown her successor at the end of the event. This year marks the 15th edition of the Miss Supranational pageant.

“I am incredibly excited and honoured to have the opportunity to participate in the upcoming Miss Supranational competition. I have been working tirelessly to prepare myself both mentally and physically for the competition. These preparations have included intense training sessions to enhance my physical fitness, catwalk, poise and stage presence,” she said.

“I have also been working with top-notch trainers to improve my communication skills and develop a strong and impactful voice. I always say that the most important thing for me when preparing for any competition is to have a positive and healthy mindset and to have put in all the necessary work,” she continued.

She is fully committed to her campaign on women empowerment in South Africa, which is called Her Way Out. Its primary goal is to advocate for women and men universally and help educate them on their legal rights. To maximise her campaign’s impact, Govender has teamed up with the Social Impact team at global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright to focus on access to justice projects amongst other things.

She has also been appointed as an ambassador for the public benefit organisation Lawyers against Abuse (LvA), who work to ensure meaningful access to justice for victims of gender-based violence by providing legal services and psychosocial support, empowering communities and engaging national authorities.

HOW BRYONI GOVENDER WILL USE HER INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE FOR MISS SUPRANATIONAL

Bryoni previously revealed that her experience at Miss Universe has taught her about personal growth, learning and self-discovery, in an exclusive interview with The South African. She expressed that her lessons from Miss Universe will assist her on her Miss Supranational journey.

“My time at Miss Universe was such an unforgettable experience filled with great memories and forming new relationships. The biggest thing I learnt is to always possess a winning mentality no matter the outcome. I believe that winning is not the only measure of success. Personal growth, learning, and self-discovery are equally important,” she said exclusively to The South African.

“You see, believing in yourself, your abilities and persevering even in the face of disappointment or setbacks, are critical to achieving your goals and fulfilling your dreams in life. Remember that being a winner is not just about winning, but also about the journey and the lessons you learn along the way. I believe that this is a vital lesson that I will be taking to the Miss Supranational stage, and I know it will serve me well and help me navigate the various challenges and opportunities that come with competing on an international stage once again,” she continued.
