Bad timing? Springbok Cheslin Kolbe’s meeting with Roc Nation Sports founder Jay Z had fans talking about rapper Diddy instead.

Springbok Cheslin Kolbe has been trolled for posting a picture of his meeting with US rapper Jay Z, who happens to be a close friend of music mogul Sean Combs or Diddy.

The rugby player, who currently plays for Japanese club Tokyo Sungoliath, gave his followers a peek at his encounter with the Roc Nation Sports founder.

Almost a year ago, Cheslin signed a contract with the sports agency, which also manages Bok captain Siya Kolisi.

Earlier this week, Diddy’s homes were raided in what is believed to be multiple allegations of sex trafficking, domestic violence, racketeering and revenge porn.

On his Instagram account, Cheslin Kolbe shared a pic of him meeting the biggest names in music production.

“Special moment meeting JAY Z and Jay Brown in Tokyo tonight, incredible experience being part of the Roc Nation family,” he captions the post.

In the pictures, the 30-year-old South African is seen holding two Springbok shirts, seemingly signed by both men.

Sadly, the moment was overshadowed by the rampant headlines about Diddy.

@tyrone.billingham: “He mentioned where Diddy at?”

@ron.gova: “Ask Jay Z about P Diddy.”

@therealandrefaro: “Be careful. They’ve got Diddy, they coming for Jay Z.”

@cribismalls: “Diddy se bra.”

Comments to Cheslin Kolbe come amid another US rapper, 50 Cent, poking fun at both Diddy and Jay Z.

“Has anybody seen Jay? LOL, Puff said the [n***a] ain’t answering his phone,” he captioned one post. In another, the 21 Questions hitmaker claimed his industry pal was “missing.”

“Here is Jay Z, last reported seen waving at Puffy jet.”

Cheslin Kolbe isn’t the only South African being roped into the drama surrounding Diddy.

DJ Black Coffee – real name Nkosinathi Maphumulo – has also faced flack for his friendship with the US star.

According to one tweep, @mizar, he was blocked for asking the DJ about the allegations.

Black Coffee and Diddy’s friendship has been a long-documented one on social media. In 2017, the DJ performed at the rapper’s party at his Miami home.

They’ve also posted pics and clips of themselves together in the studio and hanging out. The South African has also dedicated several birthday posts to his music industry pal.

Speaking to Kaya FM earlier this year, Coffee spoke about landing an invite to hang out with Diddy and perform at his party.

He said: “I was so shocked… Puff was so happy. There was a long list of DJs, pre-arranged, and there was a line-up. [And] he [Diddy] took the mic and was like, ‘Black Coffee is going to play right now’.”
