‘Lesson learnt’: Lasizwe reveals why he lied about owning a Sandton home
Lasizwe Dambuza finally reveals why he lied about owning his own apartment in Santon at the age of 19, back in 2018.

On the season finale of Drink or Tell The Truth on Friday 24 September — social media star Lasizwe Dambuza revealed why he lied about owning a home in Sandton back in 2018.
WHY DID LASIZWE LIE ABOUT OWNING A HOME?
On the latest episode of Lasizwe Dambuza’s YouTube series, Drink or Tell the Truth, he was joined by singer Nandi Madida, who is wife of Zakes Bantwini. She asked Lasizwe why he lied about owning his own home back in 2018. Lasizwe was only 19 at the time. Therefore, buying his own apartment in the city of Sandton in Gauteng was a big deal.
“In 2018, if your sister (Khanyi Mbau) didn’t call you out for lying about buying a house, would you have come clean?,” Nandi Madida asked Lasizwe.
The social media star explained that he was caught in the moment as people began to congratulate him when he moved into his rental apartment. At the time he decided to go with the flow and pretended that he did buy the apartment.

KHANYI MBAU EXPOSES LASIZWE
However, his half-sister actress Khanyi Mbau told him that she would call his bluff if he didn’t tell the truth. He dared her to call him out and she did.
“Okay, to be honest, Khanyi did call me out. But lesson learnt, you know journalists they investigate and it was just gonna spiral out of control, and it would’ve looked even way worse,” replied Lasizwe.
He went on to say that he and the Red Room star were still figuring out their relationship back then. Therefore, they did not speak for a month after Khanyi ratted him out. Khanyi Mbau and Lasizwe share the same father. However, they each grew up with their moms and therefore, took their moms surnames.
Khanyi Mbau was upset at her little brother for lying at the time because he went as far as to do an interview about it.
“I‘m very upset at him for doing that. He lied – the apartment is a rental. He told Fresh he bought it and he went onto the breakfast show to speak about it and it’s not true,” said Khanyi Mbau to Drum.
Lasizwe has since grown from his fibs and has been setting the bar quite high in his career. He recently bagged a partnership with fast food chain Steers with his alter ego Nomatriquency.
