Speaking to influencer Mpoomy Ledwaba, Khaya admitted that the divorce was difficult for him and that it took place during the COVID-19 pandemic. Khaya expressed gratitude that churches were closed since he likely would have passed out.

He told Mpoomy, “I really struggled, I’m not going to lie. That has been the hardest thing I’ve ever had to go through, and I never want to go through it again … I cannot believe I came out of that hole,”

he said. “And when I went through it, it was during the period of lockdown. We broke up, then we went into lockdown. I was alone in my house for eight months … Thank God I didn’t have to go to church because I would have collapsed.

“It was a period for me to unlearn and it was a huge awakening to the man I was and a huge awakening to who I wanted to be. I was on antidepressants and I was sleeping my life away.”

Ntando Kunene, his ex-wife and baby mama was also a recent guest on Wisdom And Wellness.

This wasn’t the first time Khaya had mentioned his divorce. On her YFM “The Lady On Drive Show,” Khutso Theledi, said that society shamed and canceled him for divorcing Ntando Kunene.
