Kefi slammed over Edwin Sodi’s R295m Rooiwaal tender scandal

South African socialite and influencer Kefilwe “Kefi” Mabote is catching strays on Twitter over her ex-boyfriend Edwin Sodi’s latest tender scandal. The businessman has been linked to the Hammanskraal cholera outbreak debacle after he was awarded a R295 million tender to refurbish and upgrade the Rooiwal Wastewater Treatment Plant — a job Action SA says he was never qualified to do.

Social media users are now slamming Kefi — and other influencers who date “tenderpreneurs” — for living lavishly with the money that is meant to better the lives of struggling South Africans.

Irregular tender tycoon Edwin Sodi slammed online

The Hammanskraal cholera outbreak has seen 17 people lose their lives.

This has outraged social media users who have slammed the man who was put in charged of refurbishing and upgrading the Rooiwal Wastewater Treatment Plant — tender tycoon Edwin Sodi.

A R295 million tender was awarded to three companies which according to Action SA, all belong to Sodi.

A shocking forensic report surrounding the failed Rooiwaal water treatment project reveals that none of these companies had any experience in this kind of project.

“The contractor [for the Rooiwal Waste Water Treatment] was grossly lacking in the competence to conduct a contract of this magnitude…” ActionSA Tshwane caucus leader Thabang Sebotsane told Newzroom Afrika anchor Xoli Mngambi.

Sodi is now being accused of having participated in an “irregular and illegal tender process” by the political party.

Miss Mabote catches strays

Meanwhile Sodi’s former girlfriend Kefilwe Mabote is facing backlash for her relationship with Sodi.

According to tweeps, influencers who date ‘tenderpreneurs’ should be held equally accountable because they benefit greatly from the fraud and corruption.

“Kefilwe Mabote, Edwin Sodi [‘s] wife drove [a] convoy worth R20 million. Money meant to change the people of Hammanskraal’s life. Disgusting and a disgrace how many are dying now,” wrote one tweep about Kefi.

Another added:

“It’s shocking indeed, these ladies want to live large not bothering to know how these men fund their lifestyles, look the number of people dying today in Hamanskraal.”
