American rapper Kanye West’s team announced that he will be holding an album release party for Donda at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on 5 August following his listening event for the album two weeks ago.

‘DONDA’ RELEASE PARTY

Kanye West announced that he will be holding an official release party for his anticipated album Donda on 5 August at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta where he has been living since his listening event on 22 July.

Tickets for the release party go on sale today (2 August) for $30 to $75 (R432 to R1080). After the news was released, the rapper shared an image on Instagram with a loading symbol and the date of the release party while the album is set to officially drop on 6 August.

“DONDA 08.05.2021” is written on the image posted without a caption.

KANYE IS LIVING INSIDE FOOTBALL STADIUM

The rapper has been living minimally in a private suite inside the football stadium with just a single bed, suitcase of clothes, shoes and a television as he puts the finishing touches on Donda, named after his late mother Donda West who was an English professor at Clark Atlanta University.  This is why fans believe he selected the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta for the listening event and gave out free tickets.

A fan who attended the listening party put up a bag of air from the event on sale on Ebay for $3333,33 (R49 480,18) with the bidding rising to $10 000 (R148 000).

The album is set for release on 5 August. According to Page Six, the Gold Digger hitmaker has a contract in place to stay at the stadium until he finishes the album. Sources also revealed that West has hired a private chef.

Although an earlier version of the album had already been previewed at the listening event, no official tracklist has been revealed for Donda. However, there was a surprise feature from Jay-Z on the song Guess Who’s Going to Jail Tonight as well as features from Lil Baby and Travis Scott.
