JUB JUB AND MOJA LOVE YET TO MEET

According to Sunday World, the presenter’s lawyer – Ntsako Baloyi – said his client is currently shooting because he respects the relationship he has with the channel.

Baloyi did, however, say that the rapper and the DStv channel are yet to have a meeting and discuss the elephant in the room – which is the R100 million lawsuit.

“We will speak to them and see how far it goes … We care about relationships and let’s hope they also care about relationships, and then we can take it from there,” said Baloyi.

He further said that for now, they choose to “protect Moja Love’s integrity” and will therefore only comment after they’ve met with the channel.

In February, it was reported that the musician – real name is Molemo Maarohanye – was taking Moja Love to the cleaners after they failed to pay him his salary and terminated his contract.

According to City Press, a senior source at Moja Love revealed that the rapper was fired as host of Uyajola 9/9 via a letter.

“They didn’t want to fire him at first. They gave him the option of apologising to the woman who was organising the Moruleng event with him when they withheld his salary last month,” said the source.

The woman in question is the musician’s business partner, Keabetswe Mokoena. The pair had a fall-out in December last year after Mokoena accused the artist of verbal abuse, harassment, emotional stress, and “substantial harm to her professional reputation and business.”

As a result of the accusations — which the presenter denied — Moja Love reportedly withheld his January salary, resulting in a legal dispute.

CHANNEL SAYS JUB JUB NEVER LEFT

This week, following reports that the Ndikhokhele hitmaker was filming with the production team, Head of Moja TV Channels, Bokani Moyo, insisted that the TV host was not fired, saying he returned “as soon as filming started” – TshisaLIVE reported.

“Remember, productions go on a break and once they return, the talent is contracted again, depending on a number of factors determined by the channel’s management.

“Jub Jub never left. Uyajola was on a break and now that we have started filming, he is working again,” Moyo said.
