Digital forensics expert Bryan Neumeister has cast doubt on the severity of the injuries Amber Heard, 36, claims she sustained as a result of being assaulted by her ex-husband Johnny Depp, 58.

Testifying at the Fairfax County Courthouse in Virginia on Wednesday 25 May, Neumeister said there are “different versions” of the same photo and according to his findings the photos were modified.

DIGITAL FORENSICS EXPERT SAYS PHOTOS ARE EDITED

During the trial, the court was shown a video of Heard with a red face. Neumeister showed how different versions of the same picture could be treated two different ways, The Mirror reports.

Further giving evidence, he said that photo 3.0 software had been used to edit the photo so that the second photo “looks quite a bit different” from the first.

When the digital forensics expert was asked if he believed that Heard edited the images, he said: “Just stating the fact that photographs were modified.”

DID HEARD REALLY MODIFY THE PHOTOS ?

Heard has been accused of photo editing before. In a cross-examination last week, Depp’s lawyer, Camille Vasquez, accused Heard of editing her injury photos.

According to The Independent, Vasquez pulled up near-identical photographs of Heard’s alleged injuries that were taken on 21 May 2016.

“You testified yesterday that the only difference between these two photographs is that the light was turned on,” Vasquez asked Heard.

“Isn’t it true that you just edited these photographs. Didn’t you just enhance the saturation to make your face look more red?”

In response, Heard claimed that the “saturated” image was taken in a vanity mirror that has yellow-hued bulbs, while the other one with less colour didn’t have the vanity lights turned on.

Depp is suing Heard after she claimed in a 2018 Washington Post op-ed that she was a “victim of domestic abuse” during her marriage. In return, Heard is countersuing her ex-husband after his legal team branded her account an “elaborate web of lies”.
