SA’s own John Wick? Ampie will make you do a double take

One is a well-known South-African singer, and the other is a Hollywood actor. But the resemblance is uncanny. Afrikaans singer, Ampie, bares a striking resemblance to Keanu Reeves’s character John Wick, and fans and followers were quick to point it out.

AMPIE VS JOHN WICK: THE RESEMBLANCE IS UNCANNY 

John Wick, is that you? Oh no, it’s the South African singer, Ampie du Preez.

The Pretoria-based singer is known for wearing his long dark hair, and just like Keanu Reeves in John Wick, he even boasts some facial hair.

He shared a photo alongside actor Viljé Maritz at a wedding, and fans quickly noticed he is Keanu Reeve’s character, John Wick’s spitting image.

“Ampie looks like Keanu Reeves here,” one follower wrote.

“Wow, SA has the most beautiful men, never mind Keanu Reeves. You look stunning,” another wrote.

“You look a little bit like Keanu Reeves, Champ,” a third added.

DOES HE SEE THE RESEMBLANCE?

And yes, Ampie is aware of the comments.

In a recent Facebook post, Ampie acknowledged the resemblance, referring to himself as the “poor man’s ‘John Wick.”

He commented as part of a post regarding his brand new single with John Rock Prophet. Actress and media personality Angelique Gerber is seen in behind-the-scenes footage of the music video for the single Silver and Gold.

“Angelique Gerber gets mocked by the poor man’s ‘John Wick’ as they call me these days,” he captioned a clip of him joking with Angelique.
