‘I was going to die’: Jennifer Lopez says Ben Affleck broke her heart

Jennifer Lopez spoke to Zane Lowe of Apple Music in an interview and opened up to him and said that after her now husband Ben Affleck called off their engagement, she thought she was going to die.

According to Hollywood Unlocked, JLO was promoting her upcoming album titled “This Is Me… Now,” which is the follow-up to 2002’s “This Is Me… Then.”

‘IT WAS PAINFUL’ – JENNIFER ADMITS

In 2004, Ben and Jennifer called off their wedding and speaking about the spiral of the emotions that followed after that, she said, “once we called off that wedding 20 years ago, I was — it was the biggest heartbreak of my life. I honestly felt like I was going to die.”

Hollywood Unlocked said that for the next 18 years after the split, the “Get Right” singer said she attempted to continue navigating through life by welcoming the idea of new relationships, but “I just couldn’t get it right.”

“But now, 20 years later, it does have a happy ending. It has the most would-never-happen-in-Hollywood ending…That would never happen. We’re not going to write that because nobody would believe its ending…I was like, ‘You’re right. It was painful.’ It was a part of me then that I had to put away to move on and survive. It was a survival tactic, for sure,” the publication said.

NEW ALBUM DEDICATED TO HUSBAND BEN?

The mother of three says that she believes that Ben and her will be together forever so the message of her new album is, “This love exists. This is real love”.

“If you have, like me at times, lost hope, almost given up, don’t…True love does exist and some things do last forever and that’s real. I want to put that message out into the world and that does take a lot of vulnerability,” she explained.
