‘Someone is trying to sabotage the township economy, creating explosive agendas that black people’s taverns are unsafe,’ says Phamotse.

Jackie Phamotse is one of many South Africans who have shared their thoughts about the recent shootings around local townships. The most recent shootings happened at two taverns over the weekend. The first shooting happened in Pietermaritzburg and left four dead and eight people hospitalised. The second shooting occurred in Soweto leaving 15 people dead and at least nine others seriously injured.

According to Phamotse, the shootings are all part of a plan to sabotage township economies so that they can be taken over.

Jackie Phamotse weighs in on tavern shootings

Author of the controversial book Bare: A Blessers Game, Jackie Phamotse, has headed online to share her thoughts on the tragic shootings that happened at two different taverns over the weekend only a short while after 21 students died at Enyobeni tavern in East London.

According to Phamotse who shared her views on Twitter earlier today, the deaths are more than just a coincidence and may be part of an elaborate scheme to cripple township economies so that they can be taken over.

“Someone is trying to sabotage the township economy, creating explosive agendas that black people’s taverns are unsafe. They are forcing the government to revoke licences while they prepare their own ‘tavern rollout’ to control alcohol sales and business. ‘New taverns’ will pop us soon,” she claimed.

While adding:

“People are paid to go to taverns and just start shootings. Someone/ corporate giants killing the smaller black-owned companies to aid their bigger agenda. It has nothing to do with drugs or people drinking. It’s competitive agendas.”

What does SA think?

Journalist Chriselda Lewis seemingly agreed and wrote:

“Interesting analysis.. You may be onto something…”

While @Ibheleli said:

“But it’s also terrifying how much alcohol is in residential areas. Drinking is another speed-killing cancer we must face in an emergency.”
