She says she’s come undone and that her recent speaking has triggered her depression and anxiety and that she’s feeling worthless, sad, and demotivated all over again.

“I’ve cried for days, spent so many sleepless ones doubting my own abilities.”

“It sucks.”

“I’m back in therapy with my addiction counsellor, and on my antidepressants and sleeping pills prescribed by my psychiatrist.”

She also says she just wants to feel normal again without the emotional heaviness of failure.

Mandela says she is an introvert because she finds anything that involves basic human interaction too overwhelming and extremely difficult.

The mother of five shared her demons with the world for the first time in her autobiography titled When Hope Whispers less than a decade ago (2013).

The author gives hope to the world and takes the reader through her journey by telling her story in simple relatable tones.

She shares her pain of losing two children within two years and her journey of addiction, rehab, and surviving cancer twice.

Mandela also shares this glimmer of hope on her social media channels with her followers by being authentic and relatable.
