Hollywood actor Johnny Depp does not seem to be suffering from any trial verdict jitters amid the defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard.

As the former couple await the verdict from jurors at the Virginia courthouse, the 58-year-old actor lit up a concert stage in Sheffield, England, on Sunday 29 May to perform Isolation by John Lennon.

Depp wasted no time flying to the other side of the Atlantic after closing arguments for his defamation case against Heard were made on Friday 27 May in the Virginia court.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star made a surprise appearance at Sheffield City Hall in England, going onstage to play the guitar with musician Jeff Beck.

According to People, Beck, who is currently touring the U.K, released the song Isolation with Depp back in April 2020 as a rendition of the John Lennon song.

In a 2020 interview about his relationship with Depp, which can be found on Beck’s website, the actor is referred to as the rock star’s “unexpected co-conspirator.” The pair are described as “musical soulmates” who have been working behind the scenes for the past several years.

“You’ll be hearing more from Johnny and me in a little while but until then we hope you find some comfort and solidarity in our take on this Lennon classic,” Beck had said about their take on the song.

Videos of Depp’s performance have been making the rounds on social media as his legion of fans feel this is exactly what he needed to blow off some steam after a gruelling six weeks in court.

“Seeing him doing what he loves after these exhausting weeks gives me life,” one fan wrote.

“Johnny Depp’s now back doing what he loves the most ! Few days after end of the trial, he’s on stage with Jeff Beck singing isolation” another wrote.

The award-winning actor is suing Heard over a 2018 op-ed she wrote for the Washington Post, in which she claimed she was a victim of domestic abuse.

Although Depp is not named in the article, he claims it implies he physically and sexually assaulted her.

In turn, the Aquaman actress is counter-suing Depp for physical and sexual abuse. She has accused him of being a jealous and drug-fuelled partner during their marriage in 2015 and 2016.

As it stands, both parties, as well as their witness, have testified and presented their closing statement. Now, the former couple awaits the verdict from the jury who starts deliberation on Tuesday 31 May.
