Reality star Khanyi Mbau recently went on her Instagram Live and shared some tips on skin bleaching.

The actress told her followers who are interested in lightening their skin that good skin is wealth, its money.

“I’m not a doctor, I am just telling you from my own experience why I’ve done this”.

Mbau who allegedly applies three different sunscreens a day also advised her followers to apply SPF and protect their skin from the sun.

Mbau also warned her fans to be wary of products from the market. She has allegedly been bleaching her skin for more than 12 years and has extensive experience.

“Hydraquinone, monobenzone and mercury are very dangerous. They kill your liver and kill your skin cells and can give you veins”.

She strongly advised her followers to opt for lotions instead of tablets. “The only secret to changing your skin colour is to use a lotion…they stay in your skin and go into your epidermis which stays in your system for a long time”.

She cautioned her followers that skin lightening is an expensive hobby. She spends on average R15000 a month to maintain her light skin.

She recently also trended when her fans assumed she’s pregnant. The rumours of her pregnancy began when she posted a snap of herself on her Instagram looking like she has a bun in the oven.

The former Muvhango actress immediately squashed those rumours by simply stating “Bloated, not preg bathong. Family planning nurses out on the loose.”
