In a dramatic turn of events at the Cannes Film Festival, rapper Travis Scott allegedly found himself in a brawl with Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards, who is currently dating the iconic singer Cher.

The altercation took place during a star-studded after-party hosted by New York nightclub owner Richie Akiva on Thursday night (23 May). This followed the high-profile amfAR charity gala.

The party, known as ‘The After’, saw numerous celebrities in attendance. These included Future, Odell Beckham Jr., and Joe Jonas.

However, the clash between Scott, 33, and Edwards, 38, stole the spotlight, according to The Independent.

Initial reports suggested that rapper Tyga, a close friend of Edwards and another high-profile guest, also participated in the skirmish.

However, footage later indicated the confrontation was primarily between Travis Scott and Edwards.

The cause of the altercation remains unclear, according to US Magazine.

It reportedly erupted while the two were on stage behind the DJ booth.

Eyewitnesses at the scene described the atmosphere as tense, with the confrontation escalating quickly.

“It was chaotic,” one partygoer remarked. “No one expected it to happen.”

Both Travis Scott and Tyga share a past connection to the Kardashian-Jenner clan, having both dated Kylie Jenner.

This added an extra layer of intrigue to the already sensational incident, according to E News.

Cher, 78, was also present at the event, adding to the evening’s unusual mix of high drama and star power.

Earlier in the night, she had performed at the amfAR gala, an event dedicated to raising funds for HIV and AIDS research.

The gala itself made headlines when a bidder paid €250,000 (R 4,997,727.50) for a role in the fifth season of Emily in Paris.

This is despite Netflix reportedly not having decided yet whether to renew the series.

Supermodels Winnie Harlow and Paris Jackson helped auction off the role. This also offered the winner the chance to attend the season four premiere in Los Angeles.

Harlow and Jackson hinted that filming for the fifth season might commence in mid-2025.

Travis Scott left the party following the altercation, while Edwards and Tyga stayed until the early hours.

This incident adds to Scott’s controversies, as he recently learned that a civil court trial date has been set for September regarding a wrongful death lawsuit stemming from the 2021 Astroworld Festival tragedy.

The lawsuit, filed by the family of 9-year-old Ezra Blount, who was the youngest victim of the crowd crush, could be the first related case to go before a jury.

As this saga unfolds, the entertainment world watches closely.

The brawl at Cannes has certainly added another chapter to the tumultuous narratives surrounding both Travis Scott and Alexander Edwards.

Whether anyone will disclose the reason behind the fight remains to be seen. However, this incident is sure to keep tongues wagging for some time.
