Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales and Honorary Colonel of The Irish Guards, expressed her regrets for missing a crucial rehearsal.

This crucial rehearsal took place ahead of Trooping the Colour, King Charles’ birthday parade.

Her absence comes as she continues to focus on her health amidst cancer treatment.

In a heartfelt letter shared by The Irish Guards, Princess Kate conveyed her pride, according to Page Six.

She had pride in the regiment’s preparation for the Colonel’s Review and Trooping of the Colour.

She emphasised her appreciation for their dedication to perfecting their uniforms and drills.

“I appreciate everyone trooping this year has been practising for months.

They have dedicated many hours to ensuring their uniforms and drill are immaculate,” wrote Princess Kate in the letter.

Despite her inability to attend this year’s Colonel’s Review, Princess Kate expressed her hope to represent the regiment once again soon.

She extended her best wishes and good luck to all involved, signing off as “Colonel Catherine,” according to People

The Irish Guards responded warmly to the letter.

They expressed their gratitude and well wishes for the Princess’s recovery.

“We continue to wish Her Royal Highness well in her recovery. We send Her our very best wishes,” they shared on social media.

Trooping the Colour holds special significance for Princess Kate as the Honorary Colonel of The Irish Guards.

She would typically take the salute at the Colonel’s Review.

This year saw Lieutenant General James Bucknall standing in her place, according to Fox News.

Princess Kate’s absence from public duties has been notable since her cancer diagnosis announcement in March.

However, sources close to the royal family have reported seeing her out and about with her family. This indicated her gradual return to normalcy.

Prince William, her husband, has provided updates on her progress, stating she is “doing well.”

However, palace sources suggest she will only return to work upon receiving clearance from her medical team.

It remains uncertain whether Princess Kate will attend the King’s birthday celebration on 15 June. This is an event she has regularly graced since her marriage to Prince William in 2011.

This year’s Trooping the Colour will feature King Charles riding in a horse-drawn carriage alongside Queen Camilla.

Despite his ongoing cancer treatment, the monarch has resumed his royal duties, though his appearances have been scaled back.

While the royal family adapts to various challenges, Trooping the Colour continues to stand as a symbol of tradition and resilience.

As Princess Kate focuses on her health, her absence serves as a reminder of the importance of prioritising personal well-being amidst royal duties.

In the face of adversity, Princess Kate’s spirit shines through her heartfelt words. It also shines through the enduring commitment to her duties as Colonel of The Irish Guards.

As she navigates her journey towards recovery, her presence, though missed, remains steadfast in the hearts of the regiment and the nation.
