‘People were in tears’: ‘House of Zwide’s’ Nandi Nyembe on her death hoax
The veteran actress says her death hoax shocked her and unsettled her family members.

Legendary actress Nandi Nyembe, who played the role of MaZwide on e.tv’s fashion drama House of Zwide, has responded to her death hoax.
The actress told Daily Sun that she had a hectic week since her character’s death sparked rumours that she was dead in real life.
She informed the People’s Paper that she is alive and well and that the news of her passing shocked her, and unsettled the people in her life.
“I am well and alive.”
“I can’t believe one can run with such a malicious story and even added my age.”
“People broke into tears when they heard my voice when I answered the phone, and some were even afraid to call me.”
Nyembe said her loved ones resorted to calling her friends to confirm the news of her death.

MAZWIDE’S DEATH
MaZwide was strangled to death by her daughter-in-law Faith Zwide (Winnie Ntshaba) after she discovered her secret.
She found out that Ona is her grandchild, and that Faith hired a hitman (Jeffrey Sekele as Isaac Molapo) to kill Ona’s mother, when Ona was still a baby.
Faith had also instructed the hitman to kill Ona (Nefisa Mkhabela) but the hitman saved her and raised her as his daughter in Tembisa.
Faith knew that her husband Funani (Vusi Kunene) would’ve never married her because he was in love with his first wife
NYEMBE’S NEXT PROJECT
The veteran actress has also hinted that she is working on a documentary to tell her life story.
“The documentary will look at my life and how I got to where I am today.”
“Hopefully, it will inspire people to stay headstrong, no matter the circumstances.”
The actress has not revealed further details on her upcoming documentary.
