UZALO RUBBISHES MAMLAMBO’S EXIT

Uzalo rubbished claims that Gugu Gumede was leaving the show back in October 2021.

Rumours of the actress’s exit began when she addressed The National Freedom Party’s (NFP) supporters at the party’s manifesto launch.

The actress vowed to serve her late mother, Zanele kaMagwaza-Msibi’s political party, the National Freedom Party (NFP).

She also told the crowd in Nongoma, KwaZulu-Natal to not view her as the character she portrays on the SABC 1 soapie, but as a dedicated member of the NFP.

‘ACTRESS ALLEGEDLY FIRED FOR FALLING PREGNANT’

Sunday World reported in March 2020 that Sphelele Mzimela – who portrayed the first Mazaza in Uzalo –was shown the door after the show’s producers discovered that she is pregnant.

Mpume Ngwenya replaced Mzimela and made her debut a few weeks after her exit.

Mzimela joined Uzalo after she left Mzansi Magic’s canned telenovela Isibaya, where she was playing the role of Kentucky.

Sources from the production told the publication that producers of the show became angry at Mazaza for getting pregnant at a crucial time for her character on the show.

“Sphelele made a wrong choice to fall pregnant when her role in the show is big at the moment.”

“It is going to blow people away, the way tables are going to be turned by her in the show.”

Gumede’s fans are now wondering if she will follow the same fate and get written out.
