ANGELINA JOLIE: HARVEY WEINSTEIN ABUSE ALLEGATIONS

In an interview with The Guardian, Angelina Jolie opened up about her divorce from American actor Brad Pitt. She also added that she was “hurt” that her ex-husband was willing to work with Harvey Weinstein who she claims abused her. According to the actress, Pitt asked Weinstein to work as a producer on Killing Them Softly which the Weinstein Company later distributed.

Harvey Weinstein is an American former film producer and a convicted sex offender whom Angelina Jolie had to “escape an encounter” with.

“It was beyond a pass, it was something I had to escape,” said Jolie, who starred in Weinstein’s Playing by Heart when she was at the tender age of 21, to The Guardian.

“I stayed away and warned people about him. I remember telling Jonny, my first husband, who was great about it, to spread the word to other guys – don’t let girls go alone with him. I was asked to do ‘The Aviator’, but I said no because he was involved. I never associated or worked with him again. It was hard for me when Brad did,” she continued.

“We fought about (Weinstein’s involvement),” added Jolie, saying Pitt’s apparent eagerness to work with Weinstein “hurt”.
