The nominees for this year’s Golden Globes are out and the list is quite impressive.

And although the event is still shrouded in a dark cloud due to previous controversy, the nominee list is sure to make a few people smile.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that the 80th Golden Globes will be aired on NBC yet again. The proposed airdate is 10 January 2023.

The 2023 Golden Globes ceremony is set to return to its usual home of the Beverly Hilton hotel, with comedian Jerrod Carmichael taking the reins as host, as reported by Vogue.

In 2021, allegations of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association snubbing shows caused quite the stir. It has since also been revealed that HFPA has had no black members for at least two decades, as reported by Vogue.

Several former nominees called for change and the HFPA did their best to recover.

In 2022 NBC released a statement saying it will not be airing the 2022 Golden Globe the 2023 Golden Globes: “We continue to believe that the HFPA is committed to meaningful reform,” it read. “However, change of this magnitude takes time and work, and we feel strongly that the HFPA needs time to do it right. Assuming the organisation executes on its plan, we are hopeful we will be in a position to air the show in January 2023,” Vogue reports.
