Makgotso Lee-Anne Mokopo, popularly known as Gogo Maweni, knows how to get Mzansi talking. Whether she is trending for admitting to bewitching her exes or about her many unconventional pets, the Izangoma Zodumo reality TV star sets tongues wagging.

On Friday, 3 February, Gogo Maweni decided to share her “babies” with her followers when she posted all five of them.

In a video shared on her social media accounts she said that she had missed her “babies” — referring to her snakes.

Gogo Maweni’s snakes are reportedly part of her consultation business with an albino python called Escobar being the biggest of them all.

Her video was followed by a mixed bag of reactions from tweeps, with others saying she looked rather scared around her slithering babies.

“This girl is over hyped lol, these are just harmless snakes but she’s still scared of them,” one tweep said.

“I don’t care moloi ke moloi [a witch is a witch]”, another tweep replied.

“That time you sacred of them😂 South Africans literally do anything for content hey,” said another tweep.

Not only does Gogo Maweni have snakes, she also has the owl and some rabbits. However, she has previously denied claims she uses them for dark magic or wealth.

Last year, when the sangoma was accused of using her snakes for witchcraft, did not waste any time to clap back at those claims.

“I don’t use these animals for anything. I love animals,” she was quoted as saying.

In her interview with MacG, Gogo Maweni explained the workings of ukuthwala (wealth-generating dark magic), making it clear to viewers that other people can never see a bewitching snake, only the owner can.

“If uthwele with something, another person can’t see it (the snake) with their naked eyes. If ngithwele ngenyoka, you cannot see it, but I can see it, because it’s mine.”
