‘Don Design is not that type of a person’: Forbes family lawyer

The Forbes family lawyer Rudolph Baloyi was interviewed on Newzroom Afrika recently, and gave insight on how AKA’s family was taking netizen’s speculations that Don Design was involved in the murder of the South African rapper in which Baloyi shared that AKA’s family does not believe that.

Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, popularly known as AKA, died on 10 February in Morningside, Durban, after he was shot and killed outside Wish On Florida restaurant.
A CCTV footage showing AKA outside the restaurant, standing with his friends and a bodyguard seconds before he was shot by a shooter who immediately fled the scene after killing the rapper had social media users pinning Don Design as an accomplice to AKA’s murder.
In the footage, Don Design could be seen standing a short distance away from the rapper and his crew. He could be seen stretching and then returning to join AKA and the rest of the crew moments before the rapper was killed.

THE FORBES FAMILY LAWYER RUDOLPH BALOYI SPEAKS ON DON DESIGN
Social media users who viewed the clip believed Don Design was signalling AKA’s shooter, who was seen walking towards the rapper shortly after.
In an interview on Newzroom Afrika, Baloyi shared that he had since spoken with Don Design on many occasions. He also said that Don Design had been to AKA’s house after the rapper’s murder.
According to Zalebs, Baloyi was quoted as saying,
“At the end of the day, everybody is looking for answers. We would all like to know what actually led to this. We would also like to know who the people behind this are. It makes it difficult, but also, at the end of the day, everybody is looking for answers. Some of Kiernan’s close friends have now received a lot of blame. There are many people that are analysing the videos. I have seen a lot of comments about Don Design, who is Kiernan’s DJ and who he travelled with almost everywhere.
“I spoke to him last night and also yesterday as he was also at the house; you know people are blaming him for this thing, but then we all know that Don Design is not that type of a person. He is almost like a child to the Forbes [family]; that’s why he is also welcomed at the house. Nobody is pointing any fingers at him apart from the people on social media,” the lawyer reportedly added.
