Like many South Africans, the family of Nkululeko Habedi aka Flabba, has accused Sindisiwe Manqele – the woman who was convicted of his murder- of “monetising” his death.

Last week Manqele appeared on the Podcast And Chill show where she spoke about the fateful evening in which she “mistakenly” stabbed the Skwatta Kamp rapper in the chest, and how she was rebuilding her life outside the confinements of jail.

The 33-year-old also mentioned that she was working on a documentary about his life and death.

In May, Manqele was released from prison after serving half her 12-year jail sentence.

SINDISIWE MANQELE TALKS DOCUMENTARY

Since her release, Sindisiwe Manqele has been busying herself with different ventures. One includes her “tell-all” in an upcoming documentary about the death of Flabba.

But the law student is keeping details close to her chest; the doccie – helmed by Zimbabwean filmmaker Eddie Chitate from Brainstorm Entertainment – is still in production and does not yet have a release date or a broadcaster.

Sindisiwe did reveal that the doccie would reveal aspects of her drunken fight with Flabba which led to a physical altercation as well as his final words before he passed.

According to Manqele, Flabba “forgave” her for the stabbing – something she claims he revealed shortly before his death. She said: “We spoke before he passed. I knew that he knew that I didn’t mean to do it”.

Of the documentary, Manqele added: “People will hopefully understand my story better when they watch the documentary

“Everybody has their own opinions of who I am…hopefully his fans get the closure they need”.

FLABBA’S FAMILY WANTS A PIECE OF THE PIE

Meanwhile, the family of Flabba has called on Sindiswe Manqele to donate the proceeds from the documentary to his children

In her Podcast And Chill interview, Sindiswe revealed that during their relationship she had discovered that Flabba was actually married to another woman.

Flabba’s brother Tshepang told City Press of Manqele’s plans: “We were not informed of any documentary. We found out on that podcast like everyone else. We have not been approached about any documentary and we have not been in contact with her since she was released on parole.

Tshepang added that any profits from the production, “should be for the benefit of his children”

He added: “I don’t want to hear anything about this documentary they are doing. But if they want to use Nkululeko’s name, they must make sure that the money goes to his children and then we will pay attention to them. For now, we know nothing about this documentary. I only heard about it when my mother showed me a link.

“If Sindisiwe is going to make a lot of money from my brother’s name, she must just not forget about his children”.

It’s unclear how many children Flabba had, and with whom.
