Flabba’s brother: ‘Sindisiwe is too beautiful for her crime’

In the first episode of the new Showmax true crime documentary, ‘Imibuzo, Flabba’s brother opens up about the night the rapper was murdered.

Tshepang Habedi – the brother of late Skwatta Kamp member Nkululeko “Flabba” Habedi – has said in a new crime documentary hat convicted murderer, Sindisiwe Manqele, is “too beautiful” for the crime she committed on the musician.

Imibuzo is a Showmax documentary which revisits some of the biggest crimes of this decade, including the murders of Flabba from Skwatta Kamp; Tshegofatso Pule, Phumeza Pepeta, Karabo Mokoena and Tshepang Pitse; LGBTQIA+ musician and activist Lindokuhle Cele; and the children of Sibusiso Mpungose, as well as the Enyobeni Tavern massacre.

The first episode features Flabba’s family, who open up about the day he was fatally stabbed by his girlfriend, Sindisiwe Manqele, in 2015. She was sentenced to 12 years in prison for murder and released on parole after serving half her sentence on 24 May last year.

“She’s beautiful, she’s really beautiful. She’s too beautiful for the crime she committed,” says Tshepang Habedi in the true crime documentary anthology. “I didn’t expect it. I didn’t see her as that type of a woman.”

Tshepang says he was conflicted when Sindisiwe appeared in court because she was like family to them. In addition, she describe a side to Flabba that he had never seen.

“I had mixed emotions, you know, when Sindisiwe was in court, saying all the things that she was saying. That Flabba was violent and all that. I’ve never seen him being violent towards her in their relationship. That I didn’t see … Sindisiwe also shocked me with that one. But on the other side what would you do? I would want to save my a**,” the rapper’s brother says. .

“She just made a stupid mistake and didn’t want to own up to it, which is normal if you want to save your a**, when you realise you are in trouble,” he added.

Speaking to MacG, Sol Phenduka and Ghost Lady on Podcast and Chill in October last year, the 33-year-old said that incident was a “mistake”.

She further revealed that shortly before he took his last breath, Flabba told her that he forgives her.

“We spoke before he passed. I knew that he knew that I didn’t mean to do it”
