According to several sources, Thembekwayo’s net worth is around $600 million (an estimated R11 billion).

CAREER

According to his LinkedIn account, by the time Thembekwayo was 25, he ran a R400m division of an R17bn multinational. Today it is said to be widely regarded as one of the most disruptive forces in venture capital in the country.

Thembekwayo is reportedly the youngest director of a listed company in South Africa.

BUSINESS

He reportedly founded MyGrowthFund Venture Partners. The company was said to focus on impact investment and aims to drive financial inclusion and access to healthcare and education by the use of technology.

Thembekwayo also reportedly founded VUKA Capital, partnering with middle east-based Watermark Afrika Capital.

He is said to be the chairman of Severus Finance, a pan-Africa crypto startup.

With all that, he was also said to be an investor and shareholder on several boards.

According to Zalebs, by 30, Thembekwayo had reached over $300 million (R5.5 billion) worth of shares in several established companies.

Thembekwayo is a world-renowned public speaker. He reportedly charges between $30,000 – $50,000 (over R500 thousand – over R900 000) for live events. He was also said to charge between $20,000 – $30,000 (over R350 thousand -R500 thousand) for a virtual event.

FAMILY

Thembekwayo and his wife Palesa tied the knot in 2009, Zalebs reported. They had their first child Vusumuzi Nathaniel Thembekwayo III in 2010. By 2012, they welcomed their daughter, Amahle, before adding their second son in 2017.

In December 2021, the couple made headlines for the wrong reasons. Palesa accused her husband of physically assaulting her.

Thembekwayo reportedly dismissed the accusation as false, instead, he accused his wife of battling with alcohol and substance abuse.
