DJ ZINHLE’S FAMILY

DJ Zinhle’s mother is said to be Jabu Jiyane, and the South African star reportedly has two siblings, Gugu and Zak, Briefly reported.

She has two children, Kairo Forbes, who she had with the late rapper Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, popularly known by his stage name AKA. He was recently killed outside Wish On Florida in Morningside, Durban, on 10 February this year. The couple had an on-and-off relationship with another media personality, Bonang Matheba third-wheeling their relationship.

The stunning DJ later moved on and married former Black Motion member Bongani Mohosana, also known as Murdah Bongz or Mörda. The couple married in a traditional ceremony and later announced they were married mid-2022 on DJ Zinhle’s reality TV show DJ Zinhle: The Unexpected, which aired on Showmax. The married couple also shares a daughter named Asante.

EDUCATION

The Coloures hitmaker reportedly studied Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing at the University of Johannesburg and previously attended Siyamukela High School in Emadadeni, Newcastle.

MUSIC/CAREER

DJ Zinhle’s brother reportedly inspired her in deejaying and was an established DJ by 2004.

According to Zalebs, DJ Zinhle made her big break on a youth dance show called Jika Majika, which aired on SABC 1.

She has since travelled the world and made a name for herself by topping the charts with numerous hits. Some of her popular songs are as follows: Umlilo, Indlovu, My Name Is, and more

She has reportedly worked with big names in the industry, like Khanyi Mbau, Dr Malinga, Mphoza, and Amanda Black, to name a few.

DJ ZINHLE’S ACCOLADES/ AWARDS

According to Briefly, the stylish musician was reportedly named the Top Female DJ in Africa, and bagged the award in 2018 and 2019.

DJ Zinhle also reportedly bagged the Forbes Woman Africa Entertainer Award 2020. 

She was reportedly featured in Ophrah’s O magazine as one of the 21 most powerful African women.

BUSINESS

DJ Zinhle founded a deejaying school called Fuse Academy music school, which later closed down Sowetan Live reported. The founder was quoted as saying,

“We shut down the academy in December last year [2018] because we were negotiating with a school to merge with. Due to a lot of back and forth, we then realised that a decision wasn’t going to be final, and because there was no venue, we then decided to no longer take in students.”

PARTNERSHIPS

According to TshisaLIVE, in 2020, DJ Zinhle reportedly announced her merge with an alcoholic beverage called Boulevard. She reportedly joined the luxe brand in the release of their latest addition of BLVD Luxury Nectar MCC Signature Edition.
