Fikile Mbalula has been dragged for posting a tribute to the late fashion designer Virgil Abloh who died on Sunday.

The minister of transport remembered the fashion, music and arts icon on a tweet that had his followers annoyed, to say the least.

‘I MET VIRGIL ABLOH ONCE

Fikile Mbalula posted on his timeline: “#Ripvirgilbloh [sic] Met him once humble soul.Sad news”.

In addition to spelling mistakes in his tweet, Fikile also changed his Twitter background to the picture of Virgil Abloh, who lost his private battle with a rare form of cancer.

But tweets were less than impressed at the minister’s attempt to name-drop.

Here are some of the reactions to Fikile Mbalula’s tweet.

“Please fix the roads and stop tweeting”

“Tax payers money took you closer to him otherwise…”

“Instead of meeting some of the roads with potholes”

“If they were the case, you would have forced to have taken a picture with him and you would have accordingly posted that picture”

“Met him using state funds, it will end”

“Ehh Mr. Campaign Manager you failed to get ANC over 50% and now you failing at spelling as well..your ancestors are dealing with you”

FIKILE MBALULA AND HIS TWITTER REP

It’s no Fikile Mbalula has gained quite a reputation on Twitter.

From beefing with local celebs like Robert Marawa, Ntsiki Mazwai, Pearl Thusi and Gareth Cliff to posting “free memes” and FaceApp pics of himself on the social media app.

In 2017 the high profile politician was dragged by tweeps for wishing Beyonce a happy birthday. Some even claimed he was “obsessed” with the singer, after he claimed he would bring her to perform in SA at the local sports awards in 2012.
