DJ SUMBODY’S BUSINESS PARTNER ACCUSED OF THREATENING FAMILY

This after reports by Sunday World on Sunday, 21 May, that the murdered DJ’s business partner is threatening and intimidating the Sefoka family.

According to Koketso Sefoka, who is the musician’s little brother, Setsetse called his mother dirty and kicked out of Ayepyep – the nightclub Setsetse co-owned with the late DJ.

The Suk’Emabhozeni producer was gunned down along with one of his bodyguards in a hail of bullets in Woodmead, Johannesburg, while on their way to a gig on 20 November last year.

A few weeks after his death, according to Koketso, Setsetse turned on him and said he doesn’t trust him. He says this was after he asked Setsetse to give his mother all information about the ownership of Ayepyep as she was appointed the executrix of the estate and they wanted him to buy them out.

“Setsetse is not what he portrays himself to be, and he’s got his reasons for leaving South Africa,” Koketso said.

Setsetse and his entire family have reportedly relocated to the United Arab Emirates, citing unsafety as his reasons.

“I don’t know what’s going on in the business. I have faced a barrage of intimidation and harassment from him. His lawyers sent me letters telling me to stay away from the business, and I did that,” Koketso said.

SETSETSE RESPONDS

The family say that Setsetse claims to be the sole owner of Ayepyep, which also has a Cape Town branch.

However, Setsetse denied the claim. He said he owned 50% of the popular establishment.

“We have a shareholders agreement which dictates the succession and that my late partner’s shares are with the estate and the executor is a family member,” said Setsetse.
