‘Close this chapter’: Elton Jantjies’s wife confirms romance is over

Iva Ristic, the wife of disgraced Springbok player Elton Jantjies, has claimed that their marriage is seemingly over following his affair with Zeenat Simjee, in a new bombshell interview.

The rugby fly half was accused of bedding the team’s dietician in reports published in August – allegations they both previously denied.

Now in an interview with News24, Elton himself has admitted to the affair, and his wife Iva has hinted that she wants to “close the chapter” on their romantic relationship.

Elton and Iva have been together for over a decade but have been married since 2019.

IVA RISTIC SAYS ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP IS OVER

Speaking to News24, Iva claimed that she was hopeful of putting the drama surrounding her husband Elton Jantjies, and Zeenat Simjee behind her.

However, this meant closing the door on their romantic relationship following his alleged affair with Zeenat Simjee.

She said: “This chapter of our lives has been dragging on for too long. I just want it to be done so we can all move on. I don’t think I will ever be romantically involved with Elton again.

“It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions for us all. But we want to close this chapter so we can all move on. There will always be love among us, but as to where we go from here, that remains to be seen”.

Iva revealed that Elton Jantjies – who had flown out to Cyprus to join her and their three children – was committed to his “first love” – ie rugby.

She continued: “Elton is not working right now as he just finished his 21 days in rehab for his injuries. So, we are focusing on him getting well to go back to his first love [rugby].

She added: “We don’t know what the future will hold for us right now, but only time will tell. We speak every day, and there will always be love between us because I’ve practically known him most of my life”.

Iva’s comments come days after she changed her social media handle from “Jantjies” to her maiden name “Ristic”.

She’s also shared cryptic Instagram posts about taking things “one day at a time”.

ELTON JANTJIES STILL HOLDING ON TO HOPE?

But whilst Iva has made her feelings clear on where she stands, Elton Jantjies has appeared to continue to put on a united front for his marriage.

The rugby player has posted pics of him kissing his wife Iva on his Instagram Stories. He’s also posted pics of her and his children on his feed, claiming that they are “all that matter”

In addition, Elton has been flirting with Iva in the comment section of her Instagram posts.

FOCUSING ON THE KIDS

After hinting that their relationship is purely platonic, Iva claims that the former couple’s priority is to focus on their three sons: Elton Junior, Noah and Leandro Lee.

She added in her News24 interview: “These past few weeks and months have been a rollercoaster for us. I have had to move my kids out of their previous schools because of the media attention they were constantly receiving. It really has not been an easy ride for all of us. But our main priority right now is our kids.

“Right now we just want to do right by the kids and move on”.
