Elon Musk is known for his outspoken nature – especially on social media app Twitter. In fact, Musk has taken such an interest in the blue bird app that he recently started the process of purchasing it with dreams of turning it into a platform where anyone can speak their mind. Apparently this doesn’t bode well with his employees who have reportedly written an open letter criticising their boss for his use of social media.

Elon Musk’s employees grill him over his Twitter use

Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk is quite the chatterbox on Twitter.

Unlike many billionaires, Musk is incredibly easy to get in touch with on social media platforms and harbours a special space in his heart for Twitter.

This doesn’t sit well his SpaceX employees who have accused him of embarrassing them with his constant tweeting.

According to The Daily Mail, the open letter was reportedly circulated on an internal SpaceX Microsoft Teams channel that contained more than 2,600 employees.

In the letter, the employees state that his tweets have been a source of embarrassment and distraction for the company.

“Elon’s behavior in the public sphere is a frequent source of distraction and embarrassment for us, particularly in recent weeks,” reads an excerpt from the letter, The Verge reports.

“As our CEO and most prominent spokesperson, Elon is seen as the face of SpaceX — every Tweet that Elon sends is a de facto public statement by the company,” it continues.

In the letter, staffers also reportedly asked leadership at SpaceX to address Musk’s online behaviour.

“It is critical to make clear to our teams and to our potential talent pool that his messaging does not reflect our work, our mission, or our values,” the letter reads.
