Months after pleading poverty – and receiving a significant cash donation from the public – Dr Malinga is paying the good deed forward by offering bursaries to needy students.
The singer and producer has extended the generous offer to students living in Johannesburg and Tshwane.

Speaking to Daily Sun, Dr Malinga revealed that he would sponsor five tertiary learners in their first year of studies.
He said: “I’m not a billionaire, but in a position to help five students who need money to study.”
In a video posted on Facebook, the singer revealed that he had partnered with Pretoria Technical College, which offers various courses.
He added: “We don’t just take; we also give. We are here to help you”.
While Dr Malinga has financially bounced back, he has limited the bursary for one year – for now.
“There is a possibility of extending the bursary, but this will depend on finances. For now, my intention is to give these kids a head start”.
He added: “This bursary was inspired by my own challenges. When I was going through difficulties, I decided to seek help.
“I am extending a helping hand. I am reaching out so that they can start their journey in life”.
