South African DJ and producer Themba “DJ Maphorisa” Sekowe has asked American-born rapper and singer, Doja Cat to come home so she can drop an amapiano EP.

DOJA CAT GOES MAKEUP-FREE

The Woman hitmaker, whose real name is Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, shocked fans on Monday 25 July when she posted selfies of her bare face on Instagram.

Doja Cat’s photos also exposed her pimples and thin eyebrows, which fans hardly get to see. In one post she wrote, “chilling is good.” While she captioned the second picture, “r u dreaming or are u creaming.”

‘PLEASE COME HOME AND PHAHLA’: DJ MAPHORISA

While the 26-year-old Kiss Me More singer received mixed reactions for her posts, South Africans embraced her as they regard her as one of them.

Doja Cat is the daughter of South African thespian Dumisani Dlamini who has had roles in major productions such as Sarafina, Yizo Yizo and Isibaya.

Although according to Doja Cat, the two of them do not have a relationship, South Africans see her as a South African and not an American. This is why when her makeup-free snaps went viral, tweeps said she looks like she belongs here.

Maphorisa also seemed to agree with tweeps as he posted one of her viral snaps and aske her to come home and phahla (the practice of talking to one’s ancestors). He also said he wants her to drop an amapiano EP, which he probably would produce.

“Doja please come home n phahla n then give us amapiano ep danko.”

Podcast and Chill co-host, Sol Phenduka also said the star looks very South African in her recent images.
