Mduduzi Mabaso is a dynamically entertaining soapie actor with a superb talent for playing fearsome characters that dominate the shows he’s appeared in. But in real life, the actor has phobias and fears like the rest of us. The actor’s fear of snakes was recently exposed when he visited the Croc City’s Crocodile and Reptile Park in Hartbeespoort.

He conquered his fear by putting a huge python around his neck and thanked the rangers for helping him get over his fears and phobias of snakes.

He told Daily Sun:

I was kind of scared of snakes, but because I managed this, I think I’m ok now. I’m at a point where I can hold a snake as long as it isn’t poisonous. I’m so happy I’m now comfortable with these creatures.

Mabaso is one of the lucky actors who got another role straight after Rhythm City got cancelled on e.tv where he played the gangster role of Suffocate Ndlovu.

The veteran actor currently plays the role of a respected and feared criminal mastermind Elliot Mgedeza. The new telenovela is produced by the award-winning creator and director of the popular drama Lockdown, Mandla N of Black Brain Productions.

The new show explores the struggle of four young women who are trying to make their way in the world. The young women are played by Skeem Saam and Scandal! star Nozuko Ncayiyane, as well as Kgaogelo Monama, Zikhona Bali and Nompumelelo Vilakazi.

The former Scandal! actress Ncayiyane plays Nokuthula “Nox” Jele, a smart and resourceful young woman who falls into a life of crime. Actress Sonia Mbele also joined the show recently to play Mgedeza’s lover Zola.
