VELE MANENJE QUITS RADIO JOB

Manenje took to her social media to tell fans that she has quit her radio gig on Phalaphala FM, just over a week after starting.

Explaining her decision, Manenje said that she “had a lot on her plate.” In addition, the former Our Perfect Wedding presenter shared that she is a new mom who had to navigate between three TV programmes.

“… It is with great regret that I have to deliver the news that @phalaphalafm_officialpage and myself have parted ways … Reason being that currently there is ‘lot on my plate.’ For those of you who do not know I am a new mom and having to navigate between 3 tv programs and a radio slot was becoming strainous on me.

“With that being said I have to to bow out of the breakfast show and focus more on my recurring commitments… @phalaphalafm_officialpage still remains my home and the door is wide open for any further collaborations between the two brands…”

Futher explaining her decision to Daily Sun, Manenje said she could not leave her baby at 04:00 every weekday.

“I left because I couldn’t cope with my workload. When I took the job, I thought everything would be smooth but I was wrong. It was challenging, especially with a newborn. I had to leave my baby at 4am every day. I discussed this with the radio management and left on a good note. The door is still open for me. I’m not completely gone, I’ll still be around,” she explained.

Mananje, who plays Aus Momo on Mzansi Magic’s Diep City, had expressed her gratitude after joining the SABC radio station on 10 May in a “delayed post.”
