Diddy used to be number three on the hip-hop billionaires list but he has taken Kanye West’s second spot after Jay Z.

Controversial Kanye West‘s second spot after Jay Z has been taken by Sean Comb (Diddy) with a net worth of $1 billion.

The 43-year-old rapper was worth $2 billion (R36 billion) but is now worth $400 million (R7.2 billion), Forbes says.

According to a new report from former Forbes editor Zack O’Malley Greenberg., Kanye was reportedly worth $2 billion at one point this year. Now Diddy has the second-place spot, after trailing behind the fashion designer in the past.

DIDDY’S CIROC DEALS WORKS IN HIS FAVOUR

Complex reports that Diddy’s Cîroc partnership with Diageo is said to account for the majority of his wealth, however different assets such as Revolt and DeLeón Tequila have also helped.

“The remainder of Ye’s fortune, Forbes estimates, comes from real estate, cash, his music catalog and a 5% stake in ex-wife Kim Kardashian’s shapewear firm, Skims. (A source close to Skims told Forbes Ye hasn’t been involved with the brand since its 2019 launch.),” as per Forbes.

“Ye always felt his net worth was undervalued. When he first made the list in 2020, with an estimated $1 billion fortune, Ye wasn’t happy. “It’s not a billion,” he texted us at the time. “It’s $3.3 billion since no one at Forbes knows how to count.”

The publication says this pattern continued every year, with the father of four continuing to complain about Forbes’ low numbers.

“For this year’s valuation, Ye sent documents claiming his Adidas partnership alone was worth $4.3 billion. When Ye learned he would clock in at $2 billion overall, his unhappiness with Forbes leaked to the tabloids,” -as per Forbes.
