DANISH QUEEN STRIPS SON’S CHILDREN OF HRH TITLES

According to Hello!, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie’s children and the Prince’s sons from his previous marriage have openly shared their disappointment regarding the Queen’s. She has stripped them of their Prince and Princess titles.

The decree took effect on 1 January. It means that Nikolai, 23, Felix, 20, Henrik, 13, and Athena, 11, are now only titled Count or Countess of Monpezat, the publication reports.

In a recent interview with the Danish broadsheet, Weekendavisen, the Queen explained her decision, saying:

“When I let go of the reins, he’s there. I am a link in a very long chain that continues, and I believe that he [Prince Frederik] will probably find that out,” she said.

“For me, it has been important that it should not be Frederik’s lot to make such a decision. It was better that it was me,” she added.

PRINCE JOACHIM MOVING TO AMERICA FOLLOWING FAMILY DRAMA

All eyes are on the British royal family drama ahead of King Charles’ coronation, but they are not the only royals with family drama.

PageSix reports the Danish “spare,” Denmark’s Prince Joachim, just like Britain’s Prince Harry, is in a very public feud with his brother and his mother, Queen Margrethe.

The Danish prince, 53, currently works for the country’s embassy in Washington and is busy moving there along with his wife, Princess Marie, and their two children, the publication reports.

According to reports, the prince will work as a defense industry attaché at the Embassy of Denmark, and although he won’t be paid, he will get his royal stipend of about $48 000 (estimated at more than R800 000) a month.

The Danish royal feud recently made headlines after Queen Margrethe announced that Joachim’s four children would lose their Prince and Princess titles.

The Princes’ eldest children, Nikolai (23) and Felix (20), are from his first marriage to Alexandra, Countess of Frederiksborg. He and Princess Marie share two children, Henril (13) and Athena (11).

“I can say my children are sad. My kids don’t know which leg to stand on. What they should believe. Why should their identity be removed? Why must they be punished in that way?” Joachim said during an interview with Hello!

The Danish royal couple previously said they were “blindsided” by the decision.
