In an interview with the Daily Mail, a senior Palace source said: “It made sense to refer to Her Majesty as The Queen Consort in the early months of His Majesty’s reign, to distinguish from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.”

“‘Queen Camilla’ is the appropriate title to set against ‘King Charles’ on the invitation. The Coronation is an appropriate time to start using ‘Queen Camilla’ in an official capacity. All former Queen Consorts have been known as ‘Queen’ plus their first name,” the source said.

According to The Sun, Buckingham Palace will update Camilla’s title on the royal website next month, after the coronation.

THE ROYAL INVITATIONS REVEALED

King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla’s royal coronation invitations have finally been revealed, and the design is rather spectacular.

Designed by Andrew Jamieson, the invitation features the motif of the Green Man, an ancient figure from British folklore, symbolic of spring and rebirth, to celebrate the new reign, the royal Instagram revealed.

“Their Majesties’ arms, the emblematic flowers of the UK, and a British wildflower meadow and wildlife are all included on the design, which was hand-painted in watercolour and gouache, and will be reproduced and printed on recycled card, with gold foil detailing, for the 2,000 invited guests,” the palace explains.

According to The Sun, the invitation also features rosemary – symbolises remembrance – as part of a tribute to Her late Majesty.
