Chris Rock to address Will Smith slap in a Netflix special

Chris Rock is scheduled to address the infamous Oscar slap on a new Netflix special.

Nearly a year after the infamous slap, Chris Rock will finally clap back at the famous actor and rapper, Will Smith.

According to a source who spoke with Page Six said, “If you were waiting to see Chris Rock tackle the infamous Will Smith slapping situation, the comedian is set to tell his own humorous version in his Netflix live special.”

According to the insider, Chris Rock has been collaborating with seasoned comedy writers to make sure his jokes are both solid and amusing.

Other American comedians like Amy Schumer, Jerry Seinfeld, and Leslie Jones will also perform during the stand-up special, which will be Netflix’s first live webcast.

A week before the Academy Awards, the performance will take place on 4 March 2023, at the Hippodrome Theatre in Baltimore, US.

The 95th Academy Awards will air nine days after that, and Will Smith, 54, will be prohibited from attending the event until 2032 as punishment for his assault.

Chris Rock’s Academy Awards joke

After making a joke about his 51-year-old wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s buzzcut and suggesting it resembled the shaved head Demi Moore sported in the movie “G.I. Jane,” Chris Rock was hit on stage by the enraged “Emancipation” actor.

After slapping the comedian, Smith sat back down and yelled at Chris Rock, “Keep my wife’s name out of your f****** mouth,” before Academy officials permitted him to go on and win the Best Actor Oscar for his portrayal in “King Richard,” which caused him to sob on stage.

In recent shows, Chris Rock has frequently referred to the Will Smith slap as “Selective Outrage.”

Another source informed the media publication, “People need to tune in till the last joke during the Selective Outrage show, as they will not be disappointed.”
