From R28 000 jackets to McLaren GTs, some of Mzansi’s celebs dropped some serious money on luxury items and flashy cars this year. Here’s a quick round-up of celebrities who splashed out to the max in 2021.

MZANSI CELEBS WHO FLEXED ON US IN 2021

1. ANDILE MPISANE

Royal AM chairman Andile Mpisane did not hold back when it came to dropping money on luxury vehicles. The father-of-two spoiled himself with a Porsche 911 GT2 RS, a Mercedes-Maybach and more recently, a McLaren GT

All eyes were on him when he bounced into a parking spot at popular Soweto nightclub Konka with the Mercedes-Maybach, celebrating his marriage to Tamia Louw

2. MASTER KG

After travelling the world with his smash hit Jerusalema featuring Nomcebo Zikode, Master KG felt it was only right he spoiled himself with the euros in his pocket.

The award-winning musician dropped R28 000 on a Diesel leather jacket, but some social media users weren’t impressed at all that a celeb was spending that much money on clothes.

3. CASSPER NYOVEST

The third celeb on our list is Mr Billiato aka Cassper Nyovest who dropped some serious racks on himself this year. The Siyathandana hitmaker spent more than R1.4 million on jewellery as an early birthday present to himself.

The award-winning rapper then dropped some money on a McLaren GT, claiming he was the only South African to buy a new one.

“The next person to buy the car which is only gonna be on sale in February,” wrote the rapper.

Makhadzi had an amazing year in 2021. From signing multimillion-rand deals to releasing a new album, all eyes have been on her. The Ghanama hitmaker stole the show in November when she had the protection of 20 police officers at a gig in the Northern Cape. Talk about flashing your celeb status!

“I had a chance to ask one police and her answer was like, ‘We were told that you are coming and not more than 5 police were supposed to be not on duty.‘But because it’s you, they volunteered to come to see and protect you.”

5. MAMKHIZE

Royal AM football club owner, businesswoman and reality star Shauwn “MaMkhize” Mkhize pulled out all the stops in November when she arrived at Konka Soweto with a convoy of more than five cars.

MaMkhize and her son, Andile Mpisane, were celebrating a win for their football club. What better way to celebrate than in style?
