South African DJ Black Coffee is definitely making strides in his field as a musician. The hitmaker is performing abroad, winning international awards, and most recently, producing music for big US celebs such as Drake. The DJ has also sat down with The Daily Show TV host Trevor Noah and left some of Cassper Nyovest’s fans wondering when he will be doing the same.

Surprisingly, Cassper offered his fan an honest and humble response that left many South African Twitter users singing his praises.

Cassper says he’s okay not being as famous as Black Coffee yet

If there’s one local celeb who has managed to represent South Africa well it’s Black Coffee.

The We Dance Again hitmaker left the country feeling all sorts of pride after becoming the first artist here to win a Grammy Award earlier this year.

He managed to knock many people’s socks off once again when Drake released a surprise album last week with some of the songs produced by the South African artist.

His success left one Twitter user wondering when local rapper Cassper Nyovest will reach the same heights.

“When are you going on Trevor Noah’s Daily Show,” the Twitter user @basix_fex asked.

Cassper responded:

“I’m not that famous yet. My fan base doesn’t spread as wide as a Black Coffee or Davido in America yet. Don’t know if it ever will to be honest but I’m having fun in my lane.”

Here’s what netizens had to say:

“Don’t sleep on yourself Don, find an international Agency and sign to it to expand ur brand. Most artists are managed by Agencies to expand their brands for the global stage. Even Black coffee is managed by a brand like Soulistic agency.”

“I don’t know what you talking about lol I’m Nigerian and I like you kpa and my homies vibe to you too. Nigerians don’t listen to afrobeats only dawg c’mon you’re big.”
