‘Uyadelela’: Busiswa in trouble over Babes Wodumo’s comment

Award-winning South African singer Busiswa Gqulu is under fire after threatening to leave the stage on Tuesday 20 December at Channel O’s 25th birthday celebration. This was after the crowd called for certified Gqom Queen Bongekile “Babes Wodumo” Simelane‘s songs to be played while she was on stage.

BUSISWA SAYS BABES’S GOING THROUGH A PERSONAL CRISIS

Busiswa was one of the acts billed to entertain the crowd, but she left a sour taste in many people’s mouths following her comments about Babes. In a video shared by controversial entertainment blogger Musa Khawula, the Banomoya hitmaker revealed that Babes couldn’t make it to the event because she was “going through a personal crisis.”

“You love babes right? Unfortunately, she couldn’t be here tonight because she is going through a personal crisis. But if you wanna play Babe’s song let me know so that I can go,” she said while the crowd chanted “no.”

Although Busiswa did not disclose what Babes was going through, she has been dragged for speaking about the singer’s personal business and for disrespecting her in public. In the video, a livid attendee of the event could be heard saying “this is disrespectful.”

“Very disrespectful hey. But ke, babes herself can be mean AF,” wrote @zoemystique.

“Bekungekho need tuuuuuu sweetie!!! Do u! and leave Babes out of it akho ngamaBoot summer,” wrote @nani_mrsk.

GROWING CONCERNS OVER BABES AND MAMPINTSHA’S ‘TOXIC’ MARRIAGE

There has been increasing pressure on social media for Babes to divorce her husband, Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo. The couple is no stranger to making headlines for the wrong reasons. Over the years, their relationship has been marred by abuse allegations and Mampintsha’s cheating scandals keep intensifying. 

Babes recently made some jaw-dropping revelations about Mampintsha’s cheating shenanigans and her royalties drama on their Showmax reality show, “Uthando Lodumo”. Not only did Babes expose Mampintsha’s infidelity, but she also accused him of fraud and abuse. The singer claimed that Mampintsha had been hitting on her dancers and various celebs. She claimed to have sneaked into his DMs and found some shocking messages.

“When I log onto his Instagram, I see the messages he sends to other female celebrities that I know. Some of them told him to stop it because they know he’s married to me,” she shared.

“I am even suspecting that he has spending money with his new girlfriend or something. Thirdly, he is relentlessly wooing other women, he is even hitting on celebrities that I know. All that he is doing is really embarrassing me to people. Another thing, I had male and female dancers, he was hitting on all the female dancers, some of which he slept with. Even after when I found new dancers, he started hitting on them again. Him dating with my friends, was the final straw for me” said Babes Wodumo
