‘Priorities?’: Tweeps slam Fikile Mbalula for entertaining ‘national date’
Tweeps are annoyed after Minister of Transport Fikile Mbalula offered to assist Pearl Thusi’s ‘national date’ instead of fixing public roads.

Fikile Mbalula has once again landed in hot water over his tweets, which many have deemed “unprofessional”.
Instead of focusing on fixing the state of public transport and infrastructure, the minister of transport was raked over the coals for adding his proverbial five cents into the “national date” between Pearl Thusi and well known tweep “Mr Smeg”.
FIKILE MBALULA PROMISES TO ASSIST ‘NATIONAL DATE‘
Fikile Mbalula trended after he vowed to provide assistance to Mr Smeg ahead of his “national date” on Saturday.
The popular tweep will be taking Pearl Thusi out on a date on Saturday, after asking her out on Twitter. The pair will be having lunch at Daruma restaurant, which is owned by Oskido.
And to make sure that everything goes according to plan, the tweep asked Fikile Mbalula to use his connections to assist him.
He tweeted: “Bra @MbalulaFikile, May you please assist me with traffic on Saturday. The roads are going to be congested on the way to Daruma. It’s a matter of national importance”
Fikile Mbalula gladly offered to help, responding: “Consider it done”.
But although the minister’s tweet was most likely made in jest, many tweeps reacted in anger.
“The speed that was used to respond to this tweet was needed to the to fix South African roads”
“Your energies are always misplaced. You can’t attend to more pressing issues affecting your portfolio such as eTolls, Transnet Freight, potholes?”
“Priorities? Not for service delivery, mara popularity, first in line”

TWEEPS ASK MINISTER TO UNBLOCK PEARL THUSI
Meanwhile tweeps are begging Fikile Mbalula to unblock Pearl Thusi on Twitter.
This, after Pearl took aim at the ANC and the minister ahead of local government elections in November 2021.
Now tweeps are asking Bra Fiks to “forgive” the actress and presenter.
“Fikile unblock Pearl now, we must never be divided as the people!”, said one tweep
