Zoleka Mandela is pregnant! The author and activist is expecting her sixth baby…
But the news came as a total surprise to the granddaughter of Nelson Mandela, who initially thought she was sick from food poisoning.
She captioned her Instagram baby announcement: “Dear Diary, so like … I thought I had food poisoning, turns out I was pregnant with my 6th child. New hashtag loading … #42YrOldMotherOf6 but for now, #41YrOldMotherOf6”.
Zoleka posted a picture of her daughters Zanyiwe and Zenzile kissing her heavily pregnant baby bump.

Apart from her unborn baby, Zoleka Mandela is mom to five children. Tragically, only two are alive; a son and two daughters.
Tragically Zoleka lost her eldest daughter Zenani who died in a car accident in 2010 at the age of 13 years old.
Just a year later, the outspoken star lost another child, her infant son Zenawe, who was born three months prematurely.
Zenawe’s father is Sekoati Tsubane, a former actor on the South African soap opera 7de Laan.
Zoleka married businessman Thierry Bashala in 2014 and the couple welcomed daughters Zanyiwe later that year and Zendile in 2019
Last year the couple announced their split and according to reports, Zoleka began dating again in 2021.
A BABY BOY?
Meanwhile Zoleka Mandela has hinted she has given birth to another baby boy named Zingce.
Posting a picture of her wearing a blue dress, the 41-year-old mom captioned the post: “Today’s outfit and mood, I’m off to do such an adult thing and can’t wait to share it with you! So abundantly and undeniably blessed!”
Zoleka used a blue heart emoji in her caption as well as the hashtag “#41YrOldMotherOf6” and “BabyZingce”.
The happy news comes as a pleasant surprise to the When Hope Whispers author, who in the past has battled depression, suicide attempts, drug addiction and even breast cancer- twicel
