The team of South African veteran musician Bonginkosi Dlamini, popularly known as Zola 7, has denied that he has received millions or a R1 million donation from anyone… including Royal AM owner Shauwn “MaMkhize” Mkhize via a statement on 13 March.

MaMkhize spent some time with Zola 7 amid concerns and donations from fans for his health. The Royal AM owner made “his dream come true” by letting him drive her Bentley and shared several other posts with the musician.

“@jamazola7 thank you for visiting us today and we’ll be seeing you soon. ❤️❤️❤️. All those that can lend a helping hand let’s come together and show up for one of our own. @business_malcolm_x @kenny_kunene @realpatricemotsepe @nathimthethwa_sa,” she captioned the post.

“Blessed is the hand that giveth than the one that receives ????????????????????????,” she continued.

City Press reports that MaMkhize donated a whopping R1 million to Zola 7 in light of his health.

“Through Royal AM FC, they said they will wire R1 million into the account. The transfer was set to be done on Friday or Saturday morning. It was discussed on Thursday when they met with him,” said a source to the publication.

The source claimed that the donation was going to be made through her soccer club Royal AM.

“The pledge is through her soccer club, which is obviously her, but officially the donation comes from Royal AM,” said the source.

The musician’s team has since released a statement denying that he received millions nor did he receive R1 million from anyone.

“Zola 7 is well and thankful for all your love and support, he is humbled by all the continued contributions. He is looking forward to more big things, he is receiving the necessary support,” read the statement.

“Zola has not received any millions or R1m from any funder, as widely alleged. He continues to receive multiple donations from  Africans who responded to the call since the account number was published,” the statement continued.

Zola 7’s team also thanked MaMkhize for all that she did.

“To MaMkhize, you are one of a kind and we hope you are not discouraged by incorrect reporting to assist where you can. You have given Zola love, hope and joy. That is a blessing on its own,” the statement added.
