Following rumours of his death, actor and legendary kwaito star Zola 7 has spoken out via a video with his friend, TV presenter Zola Hashatsi on 26 July.

‘I’M DEAD AND TALKING FROM HEAVEN’

In the video Bonginkosi “Zola” Dlamini slammed rumours of his death as he joked that he was dead and talking from heaven.

The kwaito star has fallen victim to a death hoax more than 12 times and seems to be very tired of the fake news. He went on to tell Hashatsi not to say he’s alive and let people mourn, well the gullible people who believed he was dead.

“I’m dead so I’m talking from heaven… So the one’s who killed me f*** you,” he said.

“Don’t say I’m alive, let people mourn, the ones that are gullible, let them mourn, I think I’m dead for the 12th time now,” he continued.

“To those that killed my best friend @jamazola7 here is a message for you,” wrote Hashatsi on Instagram.

THE ZOLA 7 DEATH HOAX

On Sunday 25 July, social media was awash with rumours of Zola 7’s death. This followed the rumours of veteran actress Lydia Mokgokoloshi, who plays the role of Koko Mantsha on the popular SABC 1 soapie Skeem Saam death on Saturday, 24 July which also flooded social media.

However, both celebrities are very much alive. Producers and co-stars of the 80-year-old also slammed the claims instantly saying that she is alive and well.

CONCERNS OVER ZOLA 7’S HEALTH

The reason many may have believed the death rumours surrounding Zola 7 is because fans and followers have been concerned about his health in recent weeks. Back in June, a Tweep posted a picture of the kwaito star looking frail and thin which shocked many as he looked so different from the beloved musician they knew.

Following the picture being shared, Zola 7 was a victim of yet another hoax, he was rumoured to being hospitalised along with a crowdfunding call. However, his personal assistant Siki Kunene rubbished these claims saying that he is perfectly fine at home and his management pays his medical bills.

“We honestly don’t know where these rumours started. He is not in a hospital, he is perfectly fine at home,” said Kunene to The Citizen.

“This is absolute rubbish. In fact, the management pays for his medical bills and sends the medication to him,” she continued.

Zola 7 did admit that he has been ill in an interview with controversial podcast host Mac G on an episode of Podcast And Chill where he said he suffers from epilepsy

“I lost a lot of weight over the past year. I was extremely sick, I was home and I was shaking. Everybody around me was scared I was going to die. I couldn’t eat well. I was eating Mageu, porridge and fish,” he said.

“Nowadays I have to take medication twice a day, two in the morning and two in the evening,” he added.
