A social media account that appears to belong to popular musician Bonginkosi “Zola 7” Dlamini has been trending for the past 24 hours on Twitter after its owner provided banking details and thanked South Africans for the continuous love and support.

This after fans of the kwaito star started a collective drive for him and requested his banking details so they can donate money to Zola 7 who is reportedly “broke”.

WILL THE REAL ZOLA 7 STAND UP?

A Twitter account claiming to be that of Zola 7 has accepted financial assistance, followed by a series of tweets saying he never expected anything in return for all the people he has helped throughout the years.

Fans of the star, who suffers from epilepsy and made headlines last year for looking frail, are however sceptical of whether these social media accounts are truly those of the singer and have asked him to verify the provided banking details via a video.

@officialzola7:

“I see I’m trending. For the past few days, I’ve been reading what people are posting about me and I must say, I appreciate the love you guys are showing me.”

@Officialzola7:

“You guys flooded the Twitter streets with messages of hope, concern, and gratitude. Ngizolulama bafwethu.”

“I still owe the country one more offering. Ngiyabonga ngothando lwenu.”

A Facebook page, also bearing his name, shared his banking details, saying he’s received banking details requests from fans.

Even as the bank details went online, some fans were advised by people to wait for confirmation as the tweets seem dodgy.
